From January 14th to 15th, the 2021 annual academic meeting of the State Key Laboratory of Tea Plant Biology and Utilization was held in Conference Room 441 of the Biotechnology Building.

  A total of 22 special reports were arranged in this academic exchange meeting. Wei Chaoling, the executive deputy director, made the annual work report of the laboratory. The leaders of each PI team reported on the scientific research achievements, academic exchanges, foreign cooperation, service industries and the work progress of the past year and the work plan for the next year. The laboratory technicians and managers of the laboratory have all carried out debriefing. Li Daxiang, Wei Chaoling, Zhang Liang and Liu Guangjin presided over the meeting in different stages.

  At the end of the meeting, Professor Wan Xiaochun, director of the laboratory, pointed out in his concluding speech that the laboratory has made new improvements in scientific research funding, platform construction, talent team, management level, and social services in 2021, with fruitful and gratifying results. He also emphasized the direction of the laboratory's further efforts: to strengthen the introduction and training of talents, the quantity and quality of talent introduction still need to be improved, especially in the independent training of national-level talents, there must be new progress; it is necessary to strengthen top-level design and promote cross-cutting cooperation to produce higher-quality research results. Adhere to the construction and development of the tea science research platform in an open and shared way, and provide new impetus for the construction of a high-level agricultural university with our school characteristics; Serve the rural revitalization and improve the society. There are new initiatives in service levels. It is necessary to adhere to the "four aspects", be guided by the development needs of the tea industry, realize major theoretical discoveries and new technological breakthroughs, and help the high-quality development of the tea industry in Anhui Province and even the whole country.

  During the meeting, Secretary Tang Hongping and Dean Li Daxiang presented flowers to the team that won the "Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress" on behalf of the school as congratulations.

  The laboratory also held an award ceremony for the 2021 graduate student's annual scientific research rookie and advanced individual in public welfare activities. This year, a total of 6 scientific research rookie prize winners, 2 first prize winners, 3 second prize winners, and 9 third prize winners; a total of 15 advanced individuals in public welfare activities.
