From August 8^th to 11^th, Professor Daniel Granato from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Limerick, Ireland, was invited to visit our laboratory, carried out in-depth academic discussion with the teachers and students, and presented four academic reports.

On the morning of August 9^th, Professor Granato introduced the opportunities and challenges for research in food science in European University with the theme "Bridging the gap in functional foods: from innovation breakthroughs to publishing ethically ", and shared examples of academic norms he has experienced as a journal editor. In the afternoon, Professor Granato gave another report entitled "Cellular-based models in antioxidants research" , and shared some of his academic achievements and research ideas in detail based on his team's recent research on antioxidant active ingredient determination systems. He conducted in-depth discussions with teachers and students.

On the morning of August 10^th, Prof. Granato gave a detailed introduction of functional tea foods and beverage developed by his team with the theme of "Novel Tea-Based foods: food science, technology and health". On the morning of August 11^th, Professor Granato gave a report with the title of "Journal author workshop: Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety/Food Chemistry". From the view of a senior journal editor, he shared the skills and experience of SCI paper writing, submission, review and revision. After the report, Professor Liang Zhang, Director of the Department of Tea Science, presented Professor Granato with an honorary certificate of academic report on behalf of the State Key Laboratory of Tea Plant Biology and Utilization.
