On September 9, the 8^th regular meeting of the First Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Tea Plant Biology and Utilization was held in the B238 meeting room of Bioteck Building. Academicians Zongmao Chen, Xiaoya Chen, Bin Han, Zhonghua Liu, Professors Pengfei Tu, Yuerong Liang, Zhengyu Jin, Tongming Yin, Xiaoguang Yang and Xiaochun Wan attended the meeting. This meeting was held online and offline, and chaired by laboratory director Xiaochun Wan.

Executive Deputy Director Prof. Chaoling Wei made a summary report on the task progress of the laboratory during 2022, and Xiaolan Jiang, Qiang Wang, Jingming Ning, Zhongwen Xie, Xiaoting Zhai reported the representative research progress of the laboratory in 2022, and showed in-depth discussion with members of the academic committee.

The experts of the Academic Committee affirmed the effectiveness and progress of the laboratory's work in scientific research, project application, social service, talent training and other aspects in 2022. At the same time, the members suggested that the laboratory should make new breakthroughs in the recruitment and cultivation of talents, take the lead in organizing international academic conferences of tea science, and further improve the publicity of the laboratory.

At the end of the meeting, Laboratory director Xiaochun Wan thanked the academic members for their continued support to the laboratory. He said that the laboratory will carefully employ and absorb the guidance of the committee members, and will put great efforts in the restructuring of national key laboratories in accordance with national requirements.
