Brief Biography

Professor Jiang is one of the major founders of the key discipline (tea science), key tea lab, and innovation team and has been elected as a Prestigious Teacher on the provincial level. He mainly specializes in the teaching and research of biotechnology, heredity and breeding. Moreover, the courses of Science of Teaplant Breeding and Molecular Biology and Experimental Technology he teaches have been approved as Classic Courses of Anhui Province. Besides, as chief editor he participated in the compilation of Teaplant Breeding, which is the textbook of both the Tenth Five Plan for the Nationwide Agricultural Universities and the Eleventh Five Plan for Higher Education. Also, he has undertaken over 10 key projects on national, ministerial and provincial levels, exemplified by the Sub-Project of National Technologically-Aiding Plan, National Natural Science Foundation Program, and the Important Special Technology Research Program for the Agricultural Ministry’s Restructuring of Agricultural Sector. In addition, he has published to date over 90 papers on academic journals both home and abroad, extracted and cloned more than 20 important functional complete gene sequences from the tea plants.
